RE: Had ours detailed yesterday!

Cheers Linda, though the way things are going I'm in for a long wait, was led to believe I was going to get a call re build date.

Seems I haven't been picked up in the large Jan allocation, so if it's Feb then I'm looking at April/May del.

Sods law says it will be April as I'm out of the country then.

Although it show that the paint is so thin in places on the front bumper that you can see the plastic underneath! Sent photos to the dealer, we'll see what they say.

Anyway photo's here - http://www.detailingworld.co.uk/forum/sh...p?t=246724

Thanks

Our new freelander is the same very thin paint on all the plastics, one good thing is though if the front takes a stone it shouldn't chip to bad

RE: Had ours detailed yesterday!

Thanks for all the positive comments, and to paul for posting this thread.

A one day enhance/ protect detail like this one is £300 plus travelling if I come to you (only possible if a suitable work area is available)

As well as the Swissvax protection system there are further options for Nanolex Professional paint and glass treatments (similar to G Technic) - the glass treatments give the same effect on all windows that the front side windows have as standard.

The black plastic areas were corrected with multiple passes of Meguars 205 on a blue 3m pad and Swissvax cleaner fluid pro on a Blue 3m pad.

best regards - james at http://www.ti22.co.uk

I hope my reply does not break any forum rules, if it does I apologise - please let me know and I will amend/ delete it accordingly.

RE: Had ours detailed yesterday!

I've just noticed on my OG spoiler (checked it in my garage with artificial light) that on the edges/ corners nearest the roof that you can clearly see either the white undercoat or unpainted plastic which has been lacquered without top coat. It's not a big area, but now I've noticed it I will bring this up with my dealer.

Arrived 16 December 2011: Prestige SD4 auto 5dr in OG with Adaptive Dynamics, Adaptive Xenons, Surround Cameras, Auto Dimming Rearview, Grey Oak Wood, Spare Wheel and Powered Tailgate.

Joining 2010 Freelander XS Td4e in Stornoway Grey (we like Grey!)

RE: Had ours detailed yesterday!

Wow I'm going to have to check mine over after seeing those paint pics! Mine is OG so it is probably easier to miss those areas but I'm hoping this isn't a general quality problem with the Evoque paint.

Perhaps one of the guys with the problem could start a new thread so we can advise others to check the same areas
