First experiment with Plastidip

This is my first experiment with plastidip and I was very happy with it!
I decided to experiment on the lettering first to see if it actually works, and it turned out great for a first round!

RE: First experiment with Plastidip

looks nice. does it peel off easily? or will it survive several car washes without needing to redo?? thinking of doing the same to the letters, and to change the color of the roof.

First experiment with Plastidip

I always hand wash my car n a pressure washer! No issues at all. Am planing on dipping the roof too, its going to be my next project since 90% of it is the pano roof.
Plus am planning to do the vents on the coupe and maybe the grill in front.
My dream project is to dip the whole car, but maybe next year [emoji16]

RE: First experiment with Plastidip

I like it! I am thinking of doing the plastic gray areas below by 4 doors. I have a question....It looks like you dipped the entire area around the letters, as well as the letters. Then, what did you use to carefully remove the dip around the letters, without pulling it off the letters?

The reason why i did the area around the letters as well, is because once you do 4-5 coats of the product, and take off the masking you can basically roll it back using your bare hands and it will peel off right away. Once you start peeling it off the plastidip will just tear around the lettering. You just have to be careful. there is alot of videos online about the whole process. I watched a couple of Youtube clips and i did it.
