Evoque - Cirrius Car Seat Protection????

Well, its day 3 of owning our Evoque - covered a couple hundred kms around Canberra, ate a Mars bar in it (Cirius interior) without making a mess, experienced a bit of rain, went over a couple "small" bumps and pot-holes at Hall markets Laughing and got a little bit muddy. It had to happen, she got down and dirty and yep, washed it the minute we got home!!

Absolutely loving it and I still have no idea of all her potential. We are looking forward to experiencing it. Did try to read the manual - forget that one.

Anyway ... what i'm wondering is if anyone has a suggestion as to car-seat covers/seat protection for our Cirrius interior .... I know, car-seat covers usually look horrible but I saw the blue marks left on the front seat from jeans etc on the display car.

I did look on line and they cost over $500 from the UK and the Cirrius/Almond colour didn't really look very nice anyway. Has anyone invested in the car-seat treatment they offer at LM in Woden?

Cheers, Ryker (Fuji White, TD4, Pana roof, Pure/TechPack etc)

RE: Evoque - Cirrius Car Seat Protection????

Hi Ryker congratulations on your new Evoque. I live in the ACT surrounds (out near Lake George) and also brought my car from Lennock. I don't know what treatment they offer but I tend to shy away from all the treatments offered b dealers as they tend to be more focused on making money for dealers than protecting cars.

I am currently on a week off, on the south coast at Gerroa, doing some driving arround forest trails and the like.

On my return I am going to do a closer investigation of Opti-Coat with the guys from Obession detailing (do a google search-as I am on an iPad and not my normal PC). I have been quoted $1550 which covers half for a full paint correction (as my car is a few months old) and half for the treatment. The reason to going into this long winded story is that they also do Opti-Coat for interior leather as well, which might also be a good option for you.

Evoque - Cirrius Car Seat Protection????

Had no treatment done to mine, just 12 months old, and the seats have no stains whatsoever.

I drove my Prestige with the Cirrus seats for 18 months, 52,000km's and they looked good as new the day I traded it in (Photos below) - no treatment either.

RE: Evoque - Cirrius Car Seat Protection????

Hi Ryker, I have a Almond leather interior and i've been using GTechniq (L1 Leather guard) after reading about it on this forum. Its been great to remove the blue jeans stains and its supposed to prevent stains sticking to the leather. I recently found a pollen satin on my seat but L1 Leather didn't help. Had to goto a leather care specialist in ACT to this remove the stain but been happy with L1 overall as a treatment.

Thanks for the advice - will look into it. In the "newly-wed" phase for now but will eventually get blaise about it so good to know of non-seat cover options. Cheers

Thanks so much for the photos - I'm a "wee" bit short so tend to slide out of the car but looking at your seats, I wont worry too much for now - but i've taken note of a couple suggestions I received just in case. Cheers, Ryker

RE: Evoque - Cirrius Car Seat Protection????

Apart from tires, seats are the part of your car that takes the most damage and abuse. Every day your seats deal with sun beaming down on them, food stains. The convertible car seats comes with the feature of higher rear facing weight limits, which help the parents to keep babies even of two years old by trying out the rear facing option. As per several child passenger safety experts and technicians, it is always recommended that the parents place the babies in the rear facing seats as per the specified limits of your car seat. Also, you can find the forward facing weight limits over the convertible car seats too have become popular in the recent years as well. Therefore with such options the parents need to keep their kids over the harnessed car seat as much as possible before thinking of the booster seat option. After all the convertible car seats are really handy and simple solutions for babies to carry inside your car.

I think Britax FRONTIER 85 SICT or Britax PAVILION 70-G3 could match your requirement.

+1. I do not use any sort of protecting stuff. Clean with a damp cloth and use Lexol as it gets very dry in So. Ca. Never use baby wipes, BTW.

I do get the occasional blue jean stain but just use the bottle of LR leather cleaner that came with the car and it works fine. Indeed Merguire's works fine also.
