With your Jag, the hatch stays inside the body contour, with the evoque you can "grab" a passing child.
Nevertheless, with or without automatic closure I am not amused with the tailgate of my evoque, not even after being repaired.
Maybe i'll show some pics of my bad alligned tailgate.

Juse received mine today and literally within 5 mins it was installed and working. I found that I had to close the hatch to 'reset' the sequence and it works like a charm.
