Yes, mine is powered. I'm so pleased to now find out what caused the problem........thought it was my first malfunction.

RE: Being locked out

Just tried mine, Non Keyless with powered Tailgate, and in 2 attempts was able to lock spare keys inside.

Car locked, tailgate closed
Open Tailgate only with Key set 1
Put spare keys in middle of boot.
Close tail gate with button on tailgate
2 sets of double beeps tailgate re-opens... fine.

So car now in locked but tailgate open state, spare keys in boot.
Unlock car using key set 1 with Tailgate open, don't open any doors.
Press tailgate button, tailgate closes, does not re-open.
Lock car with set 1.
Spare keys now locked inside.

Tried again, and if you lock the car manually it ignores the fact the other keys are in the boot. Which is probably the right action as without keyless you could not lock the car without a set of keys in your hand, so probably ok, and allows you to lock your spare set inside if you wanted to.

My conclusion would be if the tailgate closes when car locked with the keys inside something is blocking the keys signal or there is a fault.

RE: Being locked out

I would say probably a mix of both, based on what the LR assist guy said. To recap, he described one instance where the keys were perfectly visible, sat in the middle of the drivers seat. Based upon what the LRE manual contains, there seems to be many key sensors in the cabin - so this may be indicative of a system 'glitch'.

Apologies for any female readers, but my guess for keys left in a typical woman's hand bag in the boot (based upon my wife's typical example of hand bag) would be very definitely signal blocked, by any of a myriad of accoutrements.

No. Mine's manual and thankfully the system seems to work OK.

RE: Being locked out

Not totaly connected, but (I am not keyless) on Saturday I was demoing some new AV kit (which I bought, but the mrs cost me more as she liked the 'bigger' speakers! Sad) whena guy came in and asked if we had the blue Range Rover outside, 'cos the boot was open and it was p!$$!&g down!

Now I am 100% sure I double-locked the car when I parked, and the boot was definately closed.

Anyone else had this?

SD4 Prestige, Mauritius, Element, Cirrus Headlining, Pana Roof, Park Assist, Heated Steering Wheel,Blind Spot monitor, 20" Alloys, Powered Tailgate

RE: Being locked out

No only time I have it is because I hit my knee on the big button on the dash as I get in and then go to select reverse and realise the boot's open! And then have to get out again to close it... even more annoying.
