Yeah over the winter I tend to need to wash mine every week or so! Looks much less good dirty than it does when it's shiny white!

How did you remove the gloss black part from the gear dial? It's been talked about on here before but the manual for it suggests a chisel! Wouldn't want to do this just in case I wanted to go back ever, it's the only thing that has put me off getting the leather topper.

RE: Being arty, Dynamic Fuji with black pack!!

I replaced mine with leather, used a soldering iron to melt a small hole in it and was able then to leverage it out. I don't think it is possible to remove the shiny black one without damage. The cost of going back to the shiny black one if you don't like the leather one is not that great.

RE: Being arty, Dynamic Fuji with black pack!!

You cannot removed the glossy top without damaging it my friend! I tried every possible way, even with dental tools!! It's stuck down solid!

However to do this job is simple.

Firstly drill ( or soldering iron ) a small hole roughly in the middle of the gear top.

Then with a self tapping screw larger than the hole screw this down through the drilled hole. This acts as a pivot point and pushes the cap off at one side which then you can easily prise up.
( in the centre of the gear selector is a bolt so the screw pivots against this)

When sticking my leather selector top back down I got some extra double sided sticky and built it up a little as the single sticky supplied makes the leather cap sit below and isn't flush!

Happy modding leather heads Smile
